I just ordered the undaunted manufacturing muffler for my ms261 and the muffler cover for my ms460. I was just wondering if anyone was already running one what they thought of it. It looks legit machined billet aluminum manufactured it the USA.

Holy crap. That’s so totally insane. That’s worth half of a port job - and the porter modifies the muffler for you when they do their work anyways. I actually don’t think they look good either

Looks like a similar concept of guys putting big A/T M/T tires on trucks that never leave the pavement.

I am guilty of running winter tires in the winter if they serve a purpose.

I have to admit I spent $20 on an Ebay knock off 500i muffler cover, being made out of both 8 and 10gauge SS it weighs 14.5ozs so at nearly one pound I had not been able to get myself to put it on a saw that I bought to save weight. So I am now at week 6 waiting to get my saw back from port work at MMWS

I think they are really nice looking parts but the price point is tough to swallow. If you buy a muffler mod from the typical porters and fabricators they are generally $80ish, so when I was looking for a nicer muffler for my ported 372XPW I hit up Mastermind and saved the $95. That said, I see a lot of machine time and Americans running American made CNC's to turn out really boutique niche products, and am grateful companies are out here making cool parts for our hobby/lifestyle tools and toys.

One positive I see for their Stihl covers is it addresses exhaust can volume, which should make it more gooder for performance by not shortening the can.

Besides the weight issue of the Ebay muffler cover that was one of my other concerns, do not remember who's video but someone else showed that other than extra noise the shorter cover reduced power slightly in some instances. appreciate you confirming my fears.

Understand, I wasn't necessarily knocking it, I've certainly spent more for less in my life, just never thought I'd see something like that!

Yes one could buy a used saw for the same sum of money.

Greater question becomes if its a good investment pending if it turns out to be a diamond or a turd.

Was wasting $20 on the Ebay muffler a good investment? For me it was I would have been kicking myself in the azz spending 5 times as much for something I would not have been happy with, could I have returned it and got my money back probably but I chocked it up to experience as the seller did not represent it as anything that I did not get which was a knock off a much more expensive muffler cover of the same/similar build.
