The Stihl AP batteries won't charge if it's too cold. 40F is too cold for them to charge but they will function just fine. I've always wondered how electric vehicles perform or charge in very cold conditions--seems like it would be a problem.
They'll charge but it takes longer because part of the charge goes to warming the battery. Cold may lower range to 80% also.

I know of a well-established saw shop in the region run by a handful of retirement age guys who would probably be happy to see it change hands. Only downside is you gotta move to CA and run a small business in CA.
This the one in Pollock Pines?

Yep, and yep. Bill was trying to get me in there a few years back but the opportunity just doesn't work for me at this point.

I know the state doesn't make things easy, but I've worked for several very successful small businesses and the owners were managing to make it work for them. Admittedly I did watch a friend jump through a lot of hoops and BS so he could have his tree service with a couple employees. I'm self employed and have no desire to add an employee because it seems like the headache is the same whether you have 1 employee or a whole bunch.
