I just spent the past hour reading this whole damm thread. I've built (3) 064's so far (and I still have all of them), getting ready to build my 4th in a month or so (just finished an MS460 and waiting on bits to finish up another 044 red lever).

Anywho.....great thread. Loved the step-by-step pics and descriptions (you have way more patience than I do), as well as all the advice and input from others. I just ordered a 10 pack of those Holley accelerator pump check valves to have on hand ;).

I'm kicking around doing one of those crazy 056 Magnum II cylinder high breads on this upcoming 064 build, gotta find a good OEM jug and slug first.

Thanks for doing the thread and thanks to all the others for sharing tips and advice as well as the casual and friendly ball-busting. Some of the things I love about this group of crazies.

Happy New Years to all yinz fellers.

Looks like the carb is coming off. Again.
I did that the other day, got everything back together and looked down to see the main jet screen sitting on my bench…yeah…totally understand…..again…lol

I thought I'd be cool and use a piece of shrink tube to hold the protective sleeve in place

But then realized the wire needs to go here, and the tube made it too thick to fit..
So it got cut off.

Poked the new end on with some pliers

And with a bit of oil, pulled it into the cap

Took the recoil off to position it properly

What brand of oil did you use?

I used an almost empty bottle of Saber

Is the pitting in the case not a concern? What causes this?

I have an ugly TM 064. I love that thing. Would not mind having another one for sure.
It's cosmetic at this point, so other than making it not pretty, no
Pitting on the cases is generally caused from being stored on concrete.
Probably this.
That's how it was when I got it.
