Troublesome MS660

I had this happen on an MS270/280. I still have the bad flywheel. I was working on 2 at once, switched flywheel by accident and said "WTF?" When I suddenly had spark with the same coil.

I checked the bylaws and if you don't clearly mark the bad flywheel with a black sharpie you will inevitably try to use it again 20 years down the road

I do believe a 10 lb sludgehamma is also an acceptable substitute.

Can I derail with another flywheel question?

200t flywheel, is it normal for all the fins to come flying off at high speed?

Haven't looked at it, I would guess foreign object, does anyone know otherwise?

I think my 088 has a bad flywheel magnet. Just got a new coil, and still no spark

I took the kill switch wires off, so nothing getting grounded out. New sparkplug wire, spring, and boot. New plugs.

Was working before I took it apart and cleaned it. No trauma, lightly sanded.

I can tell the first magnet is weaker than the second, big difference. Is this likely the problem???

Hate to keep buying parts , but dang, what else could it be???

Find a small magnet with the polls marked, and make sure the flywheel hasn't somehow reversed polarity.

That's really the only test I know to do.

Now I can say I learned something today. AND I googled it and found out you can get a flywheel magnet charger for weak magnets. WHO KNEW? Mind blown.

Flywheel magnet charger?? Anyone fix a bad flywheel, ever??
