MkII and stock same with the 261 stock and mtronic

I'm telling ya man!

Doesn't need to be. It was embarrassing for the 550 and 261. And to think its about half the price too!
No it wasn’t, absolutely no way a muffler modded 45cc saw beat 2 50cc pro saws unless they had rocked chains.

A plastic saw is better when yer cold and it's all 'ya got.
Or when you're just being practical, and only cutting a few cords a year to heat one house.
Many folks have gotten a lot of years of trouble free free service outta plastic saws, which translates to pretty cheap heating.

All 3 saws had fresh chains. I'll see if I can get a video today to show you what I mean.
I’ve had several 025’s couple with muffler work and timing advanced and one I pulled down new bearings, seals rings and I opened up the intake and exhaust port some in width and cleaned the transfers up. The one with port work may have ran with my 026 which is stock and that saw won’t run with an ms261

Also for this comparison to work they all need to have .325 chains of same brand and style along with same bar length.

My MS250 will run right past a 550 xp or a 261. Only opened the muffler and 3/8lp conversion. Has yet to let me down. Little clamshell is a straight ripper!
The 3/8 lp made 80% of the difference, what you mostly did is make better use of your saws power for what your doing. The .325 to 3/8”’lp actually made your saw l take a slightly smaller chip per tooth which eliminated some drag but also increased your chain speed at the same rpm. Basically took the bar and drive sprocket off an 021 and put it on the 025. Only downside is the 3/8” picco stretches on a 025 and is just leas durable in general

For me, the biggest advantage to any sort of clamshell saw is that many people buy them to do one job (i.e. storm cleanup) and then sell them for cheap. My Husky 440 was practically test driven only and $175.00 at the pawn shop. Added a 16" X-Force bar and chain and she does great! I have never seen a low mileage proline saw for a reasonable price locally, it just doesn't happen.
