Trimmer Mix Ratio

Anyone run a leaner mix than 50.1 in your Trimmer?

I usually mix 50.1, but since Trimmers don't run at the high RPM range for long periods of time like a Chainsaw, would a 75.1 Mix (Full Synthetic oil, such as Amsoil Saber, or Maxima K2) be better at not leaving carbon deposits on the piston? Make for a more complete burn of the fuel mix?

And equally important, would it still provide sufficient lubrication for engine longevity?

I don't think you're gonna get anyone on here to recommend anything thinner than 50:1, and I bet the majority of us are running 40:1 or thicker in everything.

I think you'll have better luck avoiding carbon deposits by choosing an oil that burns more completely at lower temps, so the opposite of a bike racing oil. Personally I run Amsoil saber or dominator, Schaeffer 7000, or yamalube 2r (because I got a bunch of pints of it on clearance).

I have an echo SRM 2620 and stihl FS 110 for brush cutting(4 mix). I run both on 40:1 red armor, same for my ported saws. Almost no carbon on the piston or exhaust port on all machines.

I run whatever I have mixed up for the chainsaw. Usually 40:1.
Backpack blower, limb saw, and weed eater all get the same.

Currently running 50:1 premix on a 12 year old Stihl FS 90r. Planning to change over to 40:1 red armor and non ethanol fuel.

Good oil at 50:1 or heavier will leave less carbon. The 2 you mentioned (Saber and K2) won’t build carbon at 50:1. I’d roll with it

Since watching YouTuber "Richard Flagg" I now mix my saw oil at 40.1, he really made me a believer, the gentleman really knows his stuff IMO.

I think I'll stick with 50.1 Mix for my Trimmers & Blowers.
