View attachment 183612 View attachment 183613 Speaking of, I know I didn’t need it, but I used it anyway. 50 inch Cannon today.

Looks like it was just enough.

@mdavlee has a fix for those floppy 661s as well: works great.

Come now Heath....he could have fell that tree with a 28"
Could have, but it was definitely faster since I have the saw ready to go here. Especially on the steeper ground. That was flat. I just use that 50 when there are enough big ones to justify it.

When felling large ones, I'm happier if my bar goes nearly all the way across. I know some guys can go in from both sides and make it look like one cut, but I'm not that good, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

If you were doing it everyday it’s not a huge deal, if I haven’t cut in a while it takes a while to get back into swinging the tip over enough for the face without leaving the same side of the tree.

What kind of a fix?

The small white AV plugs that keep them from getting full of sawdust from an 044 or maybe 026 will fit right down in the limiter pocket for the bolt on the handlebar. It limits quite a bit of movement and keeps the springs from maxing out. New sponge pieces for the front under the tank about every 100 hours will help too. I milked with it a few times and it kills them quickly with the extra 10 lbs hanging on there.

Yeah, she doesn’t feel too great with a 50 hanging out there. I’ll have to try that.

Did some volunteer work at the Fish + Game club today … specifically removed a large Red Oak from our fence line.

My 28" bar MOFO Hybrid barely reached through it (at about 50' up), and note that a fence post is impaled in the log.

Also had to remove a dead Hickory in back of it in order to roll it off the fence.

Me and another guy had to hike in carrying everything … no heavy equipment allowed! We got it done!
