Certainly lots of wedging. It’s the unburned understory that’s horrible. Nothing bends like it should, everything is sharp, it looks like an anti logger designed the perfect logger traps to maim and kill

All those partially burned Alder and madrone and cedar saplings sticking up in the picture. The branches burned down to Fire hardened points, very sharp and flesh hungry. And a small madrone or Alder that would ordinarily just bend to the ground and snap when you drop a small tree on it will now act like a damn catapult and launch stuff in unpredictable ways. Smaller brush burned down to hard, sharp punji stakes all over the ground perfect to trip and impale. Just have to move around in it carefully. I would imagine before the fire a guy wouldn’t have been able to walk through there without cutting paths, was probably solid brush.

I once had a set of 10 ply Kevlar sidewall wranglers. Ruined two in short order getting too close to burned off stobs hiding in the grass.

No kidding. I like those baskets but 1) they are expensive, 2) I don't have anyway to move 'em, 3) unloading them would be a PITA; but, they do make for a neat and orderly stacking area. I would also be concerned about the baskets in the middle seasoning at the same rate as the outside baskets

Several years ago Poplar blow down had to be chuncked into wheel barrow size pieces to get out of a back yard. 066 with 41 inch bar

Black oak, probably about 3.5 feet across. The only solid wood was that lighter colored rim around the outside maybe an inch thick in the thicker spots. And a really weird looking mushroom or something in the hollow spot. Looks kinda like an octopus. [emoji1787]

First 2 pics a tall heavy side leaner with a house and large shop shop with in range thus the thick hinge. Worked with an excavator guy to clear a fence line of scrub pines and a small pile of Doug fir logs a good day for sure. More I use the 500 the more I like it and I loved it from the beginning. To get a significantly lighter saw you have to go down to 50cc and a major power drop off. Weighs just a bit more than the 362.

From my younger days when I was in my mid 40s a big Cedar top blown out at 65 feet in tight quarters the wife inspecting the stump. Me sitting on the stump when it was about 25 feet tall

Just a day in the woods cutting hot dog wood Red Alder for the back yard fire pit nothing flavors a roasted hot dog like alder.

Tornado cleanup in Newnan, Georgia. This town was hit very badly a couple weeks ago. They're still hanging wires and there's debris all over. This pic is of a blowdown water oak adjacent to a damaged house. They have about 50 trees down just on this property. Roof metal is wrapped around trees 50' feet up and all sorts of fascinating tornado damage phenomena.
On this part of the tree I am using an MS660, 36" bar and 3/8" skip tooth chain. Other saws used were Groundi's MS180, my 026, 046 and the Chinese eBay saw that I have an ongoing review on. (I'll have to update that I guess)

What used to be their barn and storage shed. It's tricky cutting up the tree wood when it's mixed with shingles, metal roofing, broken studs and other debris. Nails sticking up all over the place and plenty of other hazards to deal with. This wasn't a little yard barn but a garage sized building with additions.
