Did you have to cut anything from the OEM Stihl 500i cover or not Kevin? Or just the Maxflow plastic?
Nothing cut except the MaxFlow plastic
So u can use the mayflow with the original cover?
And u only have to modified it a little?

How much filter surface area is exposed? Looks pretty tight.
Not as much as the MaxFlow cover has on the 661, but, its got enough.
I was thinking of adding more, but maybe my next one will have a few cover mods, that way I can tell them apart.
You dont need to run a 90cc saw with this thing running around, and its WAY lighter than any 394/5.
Ported, they handle 36" 404, and 36" 375 is no problem, including gear swaps.
I dont really notice any excess fuel consumption, but I need more run time on it
Weight & handling wise, feels like I'm running an 044, power wise, it is stronger than a stock 661 .................. whats not to love ?

I won’t be just “thinking” of adding more, two tanks through it, and I’ll be figuring out how/where to get more air to the entire MaxFlow filter area

Cut this storm damaged Black Walnut down for my neighbor yesterday. Base is 19", but heart wood is only 10", so I turned most of it into firewood.

A few days ago I noodled some of the Tulip tree I cut up down in Westchester, and left my splitter down there with them.

When I picked the splitter up today, this was what was left of the Tulip. Two neighbors are sharing the wood.

This ash tree in front of my house died last year, I had previously taken out the smaller of the two trunks. Living on a dead end road allowed me to drop it across the road. I was able to salvage 3 logs for the mill to go with the two dump truck loads of debris.
