Wow @chiselbit , can’t get much closer to the roof than that! What saw were you running and is that a Tsumura on it?
Hey @Kerfed, yeah, we put those blocks in there to keep it from rotating onto the gutter but it cane off nice with no rotation. Saw is a 661 and yes that’s a 36” Tsumura bar I got from @Redbull661

A triangle shaped ash.... yep I had to crawl in that hell hole of invasive brush to top it which consisted of... burning bush, russian olive, poison ivy, briars and japanese barberry. Tick, mosquito and black fly heaven. You know it’s bad when the tree disappears in it. We call this area of the 100 acre property we’re doing now the “jungle” and for good reason. How do you guys in the east avoid Lymes disease? I’ve heard you have an abundance of ticks? Seems like you’d be covered in the little bastards if you waded through that mess.

I've had it a few times. Never even knew. I'm asymptomatic. Never skipped a beat. My wife has had it a couple times too. But she knew. She had the aches and joint pains, etc.

Use permethrin spray on your clothing, works miracles keeping the buggers off. I never go into brush or the woods without treated clothes. Don't have to apply it each time, lasts about 2 weeks.

Don't know how I have avoided getting Lyme, but I'm glad I have not had it. Have found ticks on me, imbedded and not numerous times.

The dogs have all had it, and the wife had Ehrlichiosis a few years back, and the ticks even carry worse stuff now, one can be fatal and has no treatment.

I don't use any repellant.

Got to fell this big oak for my logger buddy. It was around 9' at the widest point. Got it done with a 660 with a 3 foot bar. It was dead standing. Still had a salvageable butt log and one above the crotch. Took about 3 tanks of fuel to fell and buck 2- 8 foot logs

IMG_20200527_140705_02.jpg IMG_20200527_140705_03.jpg Not everyday you get to have a skidder forward the trees and brush to the chipper. Hill was steep and none of the stumps were to be removed. I could not think of a better way to get the trees off the hill. I guess an excavator or some complex rigging could have got it done.
