@davidwyby

Here's another from this morning where i used a steep, out of pitch face and back cut. Not only did this tree have weight/lean 180* the way I put it, it's tendency with my placement of the face was to drift 90* downhill to the road. I wanted to keep the log on the hill for future erosion and habitat.

Fauxpas, as I forgot my shorty-wedge, but I still pushed it over fine. It pulled to the high side of the cut, which in this case was the uphill. Made it easier to limb, too, staying out of the now-dusty road.

And yes, this is a pretty small tree, but the application is the same. I haven't used this on a tree over 24-28", probably, so I don't know how well it applies on larger trees with increased variables at play.

I'm knocking out a live oak clump for the rest of the day.20230423_102012.jpg20230423_102024.jpg20230423_102034.jpg20230423_102048.jpg20230423_133938.jpg

We had two Powerkings when I was a kid. My sister and I used to race them. The faster one looked just like that one.
"Faster" and "Powerking" don't usually show up in the same discussion LOL. The neighbor runs the Cat 525c skidder with a couple of his young children in the cab. We're all having fun, except I'm banging wedges to pieces persuading the trees to go where they don't want to go. :BangHead:

Looks like a major PITA...but good job.
Thanks. I climbed an Elm near the road and pruned two dead limbs. Big enough that my climbing saw was a 372XP with a 24” on it.

Everything was huge here. 😂

Customer was thrilled after finish grading and clean up.

They "forced" me to cut extra 2 pines before returning home. Worst part was seeing the Ship sailing in front of me as i m exactly at Port entrance.

The Wood actually managed to turn it almost 120degrees on my right avoiding the electrical pole and cables.
