Thanks to some sickness, I took the day off. My lovely lady is sending the 572 out for me. Soon the saga shall end on a positive note thanks to the kindness and generosity of a couple gentlemen on this forum. Words can't describe how thankful I am.
Any updates on this?
That note you posted from the dealer about how it’s running lean with 40:1 is technically true. Less gas per volume in 40:1. I have always wondered how the auto tunes adjust to a different mix ratio. According the flow chart from husky it is supposed to adjust to peak rpms only, if this is the case then mix ratio should not matter.
to prove it you’d have to do an EGT sample in a controlled environment taking samples at different loads, then calculate and average with two different mix ratios.

It's in my shop right now. A very generous member here is fixing up a carb and a muffler for it.

I can say that the carb that came on the saw from the factory isn't salvageable. It's likely a Zama issue.

The muffler is done. Just gotta flash the carb....

What’s up with the carb? Did it get ruined trying to remove the main nozzle?
Did you find any issues with the metering lever height when you were in there?

The main nozzle failed initially and Jay made his best efforts to repair it, but I have a feeling it had other problems that escaped him.

Mufflers are NOT cheap for these. I think I paid 120$ for mine when it got ruined and I had to replace it. Couldn’t believe how much it cost when I saw the receipt. Some good people here helping Dominick out.

Some folks here donated money to fix this saw. We assumed that it needed a top end, but it was ok. So the funds went to the muffler and carb. The carb is more expensive than the muffler.

I LOVE this forum just for this let alone my addiction to powa saws.

Not trying to shame anyone here by prying out the details of possible mistakes. that is not my intention

I did just buy one of these saws and I am trying to learn everything I can about it.
I believe there is a test for the main nozzle through the nipple on the top of the carb (primer line) in which you can check the main nozzle easily. I’ll have to find the video on that.

*edit*
here it is, brilliant. Plug off main line and pull vacuum through primer nipple it should hold indicating the check in the main nozzle is good

Jay and I spoke today and I acknowledged that it was not his work that was the issue with the saw. I did not expect him to be at fault to be honest, the man has always been nothing short of excellent to me as a customer and even more so as a friend. Other examples of his work I am in possession of have been outstanding and I feel he is in the clear on the matter.

I cant say anything but wonderful things about Jacob and Randy for everything they have done for me. For the guys that have donated funds and have been mystery friends...please feel free to message me, there is nothing that would please me more than to thank you personally and to lend recognition to you as well as any compensation or personal favors one may have available to make things right.

I am eternally grateful and proud to be a member of this forum. Weak and fruitless as my words may be.

I remain yours.
