Wait ... the muffler cost what??? What do they think, it's a Stihl???

Heartwarming to hear the progress on your saw Dominick, I know you went through a lot of frustration with it.

Ain't ever seen a Stihl muffler cost even half as much as a 572 muffler.

I guess when you don't built crappy saws anymore the parts cost real money lol

Jay and I spoke today and I acknowledged that it was not his work that was the issue with the saw. I did not expect him to be at fault to be honest, the man has always been nothing short of excellent to me as a customer and even more so as a friend. Other examples of his work I am in possession of have been outstanding and I feel he is in the clear on the matter.

I cant say anything but wonderful things about Jacob and Randy for everything they have done for me. For the guys that have donated funds and have been mystery friends...please feel free to message me, there is nothing that would please me more than to thank you personally and to lend recognition to you as well as any compensation or personal favors one may have available to make things right.

I am eternally grateful and proud to be a member of this forum. Weak and fruitless as my words may be.

I remain yours.
Sincerely, honestly & nicely communicated.

Not trying to shame anyone here by prying out the details of possible mistakes. that is not my intention

I did just buy one of these saws and I am trying to learn everything I can about it.
I believe there is a test for the main nozzle through the nipple on the top of the carb (primer line) in which you can check the main nozzle easily. I’ll have to find the video on that.

*edit*
here it is, brilliant. Plug off main line and pull vacuum through primer nipple it should hold indicating the check in the main nozzle is good

Those were the tests I ran on Nick's carb initially but it didn't even make it that far. Even with my bad hearing I could hear air passing by main nozzle and it wouldn't hold one iota of pressure.

Good peoples.
Should end up being better than when it left the factory after these guys have their mits in it.
Maybe it could spend a few months on the road being sent to the best of the best , first it get a chimp sticker then maybe an xs and so for! That would be fun but probably not feasible.

It can be used by a trusted member(s) for a bit if they want, the least I could do for all the help. Or it can come home lol whatever.

I'm gonna loan it to my neighbor so he can use it to cut a new trench on the back part of his property for conduit for the electrical to his new shop.

I'll make sure he puts a tube sock over the air filter. :ambulance:

Update, thanks to some extremely generous gentlemen on the site the 572 is well on its way to being in operating condition. The status of the piston was called into question and the decision was made to obtain and use a new one.

Words can't describe how thankful I am for progress and moving in the right direction. The excellence of those involved deserve recognition.
