Linkages on the three carbs I tried this morning WJ 48, 69 and Bing 49, throttle linkage and plate bound around half throttle.

I'm moving on to my chain.
It takes some bending to make it work.

Because it has a limited coil.
How could all these different people put a wj69 on one and not get a unlimited saw?

I have no doubt it's turning what the tach reads but it's not from just a wj69 like we are told, also if the coil is not limited what difference would a spark plug make?

Put a wj69 on one and screw the high shut and it will still 4 stroke or burble wfo no load, how can that be?

I'm not doubting that it's turning what it is but it's not just from a standard carb.
Everyone has gotten 14k from a carb but over time it will slow back down,go wow does that happen? The only thing left is the coil so how can it slow it down if you have control over the fuel and air?
In my opinion with a limited coil a sparking plugged could vary results with the interference, but the temp of a plug could also alter that too if you have a cold plug getting very hot like a glow plug.
Resistor plugs are and used for many items that to prevent interference with rf waves, fets/ micro switches. They won't make really any difference in the most simple basic magneto ignition systems unless other electronic items are near.
A non limited coil I'm sure won't care too much what plug your running cause it's gunna spark as the coil tells it too.

I don't have a 661 here, but I do have a theory.
Anyone have pics of the flywheel, and coil components available to look at?

I wonder if the gap between coil & flywheel changes anything (other than the timing).

We need to be thinking what is different about this saw from the others we work on.
Scott mentioned there are some parameters to be worked with, not against. So what is it that is truly different?

Flywheel has north and south poles. Let's start there.
