Does anybody have a source for the Torx screws that are used on Stihl chainsaws? I don't want to buy them from the dealer because they're too expensive. I want to buy a large quantity of each size so that I can keep them in my stock for when I need them. I know I can get the non-serrated ones through places like McMaster Carr but I don't know where to go for the specialty ones. Can anyone help?

I have often wondered why the big box stores (HD, Lowes, Manards, TSC, etc.) do not sell Torx head machine screws. Yes, they sell metric machine screws but not with Torx heads. I guess they have never heard of Stihl or they have been paid off not to sell them.

Husky and echo drawer are still empty, ran out of tape for the label maker. Just got more today so that's tomorrow's project. Probably going to end up being a couple drawers for husky screws. My goal is 30 of every screw on hand.

Next up is a drawer or 2 dedicated to wrist pin bearings and clutch drum bearing

For those who don't know Northwood saw has quite a collection of spline head screws, woodruff keys and various hardware.e-clips and what not .

When ever I rebuild an older model Stihl I usually replace all the slotted head screws with torx head or at least socket heads .

another place would mcmaster carr or kimball midwest if you dont mind putting allen head screws in....you can buy boxes of 25-50 screws for $10. I think i paid $125 for this organizer drawer full of button head screws and at $6-20 per box of 25-50 it is cheap to refill and add more to it. I think they also have regular allen head assortments as well.
