I took some trash to the dump yesterday and saw this laying there so I snagged it. Guess I'll be taking a shot at my first bar tip change. The markings are worn off but it seems like .50 gauge. Would this be a 25" 84 DL? The bar itself is slightly bent, maybe 1/8 inch compared to a straight edge.

Yeah that was basically my response when I saw it, wondering how that would happen.

Are you seeing the inside of the rails being worn? I hadn't noticed that the rest of the bar looked too bad, but I have way less experience than lots of yal. I haven't tried dressing it yet. I usually use a belt sander, (is it too soon to say belt sander after JMS?) with the table set with a square 90 degrees from the belt. Guess I should try straightening and dressing it first, than decide if it's worth a new tip.

The inside of the groove appears to be fairly worn. It could just be from the photo angle.

I took a clapped out .058 husky bar and made it a .063 with little help.

Got a chance to pick up an echo cs-305 which looks like a cs3000 with the rear handle put on instead of the top handle kit. Guy wants $50. It runs started on the 3rd pull. Just needs air filter. What say y’all for a little saw? Smallest saw I have is my husqvarna 51 and a mini mac that probably won’t be fixed if I get this.
