Nice score on chains. Can I have a couple to practice my chain sharpening skills. This was at a local independent rental store, claimed it was used only a couple times. I broke the plastic shield that allows you access to install the grinder wheel. Will put a little JB weld on it, and should be good to go.

Just leave that side shield off. Not like its not protecting your eyes... All of my 511A/511Ax sheilds have been broken off at the same spot. I suggest putting proper 0.065 spacers in your table if you're not going to sharpen bigger gauge processor chain. Make sure you figure out when to advance and retard the chain in order to be symmetrical on cutter top plate length on both sides of the chain. You'll have a good chain from a 511A once you figure that out.

I have one of those but mine is only a 122 not a 122S... I am MIA some carb box stuff that I'm hoping I can rob from a 123. Nice snag!

Actually a 144a :)

Could prob just swap the carb straight over (but unsure if tuning screws on same side - not in the case of the 144..)

All of the guys down south might not know what this is. You are lucky

Picked this up on Sunday. You can get some good buys, buying a snowblower in August when it's 90 degrees. Always wanted a Honda with the hydrostatic transmission. Supposedly shoots the snow 50' . Hope I hardly have to use it. image.jpeg

I can only wish. Some years it doesn't snow in December and other years I'm out there everyday shoveling. We have had some big snowfalls. The last couple or years the big storms have missed this area. However, Grandpa still talks about the blizzard of 47. During two days there was 36" of snow, gusts to 60 mph, and 10-20 foot drifts. Though he was exaggerating so I looked it up and it was true. Hope I never experience that. People can barely drive in 2"

I've looked for years. People want crazy money for them regardless of the shape. Dealers around here ask $2700 for them brand new. Two years ago I missed out on a slightly smaller HS828.

No, not a comment on the weather. A wise man buys straw hats in winter... when nobody else wants them (and prices are low).

Come summertime, he's sittin' pretty. While everyone else is paying top dollar for a new straw hat!

Best time to buy a new (used) plow truck is May or June around these parts. And since we didn't, it looks like I'll be driving ol' Tom (our `91 Chevy) for yet another season.

Hopefully it snows... A LOT!!!

Good looking blower, Backtroller. My father's got an Ariens about that mean. He lives in Michigan and loves that thing to death.

Literally a snag. I stopped in to a larger box store retailer in my area that sells Stihl. I'm looking for a 034 early style recoil. Anyways there is a girl at chainsaw counter trying to tighten a new chain and bar on a customers 441. I mentioned it works better to hold the bar up on the end and since it is a new chain a little tighter will be fine as they seem to stretch a little right away. So after that she got it on fine and customer states he ruined the other bar as the chain was stuck in it. I told him his bar could be fixed and he had it there and he goes to me if you can use you can have it. I said thank you and this is what he gave me off the counter.

28" Stihl ES...........The thing that makes me mad though is there is no reason the shop couldn't have fixed the chain. It is really shows poor service on their part.

He said the bar was pinched. Well ok looks to me like you dropped the chain and tried to run it with blurred drive links.
