That flywheel side seal might not be deep enough. That seal needs to sit over that crank lip. If you have a caliper you can set the seal about 4mm deep from that lip on the crankcase. Between 4.0 and 4.5 mm is ok.

The seals can catch you off guard on these for sure. I learned the hard way lol.

After I finished off the test cuts, Chris, who operates our knuckle boom, tells me that oak stump I was cutting had concrete in it. Says he destroyed three chains cutting it so the knuckle boom could handle it. I was about 5 inches away from where he hit concrete. I just finished touching up a square filed 36 inch full comp chain. I don’t even want to think about the obscenities I would have........

I am told concrete is a good way to shore up a tree rotting at the trunk. I am also told it isn't :( We have a tree here, I am not sure what to do about it. It's several hundred years old and has a hole in the trunk. The problem I have is it can take years for concrete to dry.

After looking at your saw I'm missing a few pieces on the one here.

My saw also has the 395 style filter on a 394.
Husky illiterate but catching up fast.

Everything looks good so far but the worm gear was melted, it needs a plug wire, the carb box rubber divider and something else

I know you got the short end of the stick on that deal. But hell, it’s a 30-year-old saw. Hard to find them in really nice condition complete. Just throw a bunch of parts at it....I did. There’s a reason they are legendary. Can’t buy one new, Pre EPA Compliant that is....
