maybe I'm wrong, I dunno. i'll eventually get out to the shed and get my parts pile and see if the plastic vent piece fits. if not, i don't see the harm in putting in a piece of fuel line and roll pin.

OK so here’s where were at. The new hose assembly actually feeds thru the case as an interference fit with the same size pin installed on the hose. This is different than the old style because the pin is the interference fit to the case.

Now with that being said the plastic tube is incredibly rigid. List price is $6.99 for the part. I’ll pay that in lieu of trying to jam that pin into the hose with some heat and HOPE I don’t *f-word it up. As seen through the refurbishing of the plastics, I have some patience for a project. This is a simple fix and I’m not going to fight something this small to save a dollar.

I don't really understand this vent.. When cutting with clutch facing up, all bar oil would come out if there's pressure inside .

Determined to pull the cord today. I got up early this morning and got the case together, seals installed and rechecked timing. I took .045 off the base earlier this week and set the squish to .022 today.

Before anyone I asks, I keep an old drill bit wrapped in cloth to spin some scotch bright and do a final polish on the cylinder. The bit poked out of the rag and kissed the combustion chamber. No harm done anywhere else. I raised both the transfers and exhaust back to where the original KS engineers had it set. Let’s see how it does there.

I didn’t take as many pictures as I’d like to. Had a handful of things to tidy up during final assembly. The decomp was bent just enough for it to leak like a sieve. One of the starter Pawls was tweaked a bit. Replaced those as well as the ignition coil wire.
