Not for me.
Shaun for the amount of effort that it would take to fix that case, it wasn’t worth it. I bought a new crankcase for $147 with bearings. I have the luxury of buying through the tree company I work for, they have an arborist dealership. Otherwise I would have repaired the case and had it powder coated. Seemed like the path of least resistance

Feel free to send the cast away to Shaun’s no kill chainsaw case shelter.

I spent some more time on the plastics. Did a lot of wet sanding all the way to 2000 grit and a cotton wheel to buff.

I went to Harbor freight this morning and picked up a headlamp restoration kit. It had a white compound and a 3000 grit pad. I got a little more lustre out of the plastic. Not bad for ‘91 plastics.

Getting the plastic to new condition seems to be out of the question. All three pieces are bare plastic. No snake oil or magic potion to get the typical “shine”
