I need to be able to weld magnesium for several commercial customers. Got a broken hedge clippers blade support. I’m also thinking about this machine.

On paper it doesn't look bad for a low options machine. 5 amp DC, 12 amp AC arc starts is low enough to do most delicate work. No pulse, but I still weld with a sine wave machine. At least this is square and has AC balance.

Have you ever tig welded before? Mag welding isn't that much different than welding aluminum in my opinion but there is still a bit of a learning curve with welding cast, dirty parts.

Seems like a decent deal for the extras with the kit. The welder with foot pedal goes for $825ish, between the helmet, gas bottle, filler, cart, and shipping you'd have a fair bit more than the difference.

Never tig. But I arc weld cast on big sewer plant pumps all the time
