HELP! This freakin 034..

Looks like I got a rwal bastird of an 034. It has a side adjust, an oil pump thats non adjustable, no hole in the case for adjustment but I got it figured out but 1 thing...the freagun airbox cover. I had a 1125 140 1000 but it would not go all the way down. So Looking at the ipl it calls for a 1125 140 1900. No difference in the covers. But I got an el cheapo from somebody and it wont go all the way down either. So I'm at a loss. Could it be from the air vent tower? Is it the correct air vent? These bastirds of a Stihl with 3 different air vents and oul pumps, and covers, etc. Need help figurin this one out..

Is your Choke in full on position? Helps if it is out of the way.

I've owned many 034/036. This one has me stumped...

I don't use my 026 or 034 very often and usually get frustrated before it fits right. . Looks as if you are trying for to get the cover to close (at the top).
Try a bigger/parallel gap between air box cover and top hat/cover Good luck.

What happens if you take the air filter off? Will the cover sit down all the way?

Wrong twist knob for the filter
It should take the flat style that has a square hole in the knob
You have the winged knob on the covers

026 trigger handles don't jive with the 034 covers. I had an 026 handle in my 034 stuff and because it fit and went over the throttle linkage the same way I didnt even bother to check the cutout for the air box cover. You guys taljing about the vent being backwards (I tried multiple thibgs to get it to fit) got me looking at the pics and I noticed that it looked like the cutout for the handle was sloping back some. Compared handles with another I had in the 034 stuff and noticed the difference. Thank you to @Maintenance Chief for getting me thinking....

That cover is for the compensating carb like on the 036/360. This carb is a non compensating one that takes the round knob.
