Looks like a form of oak Reggie. Straight grained. Dense. But I'm no arborist.

I agree. A few of my FB firewood buds said it was White Oak.
Whatever oak it is I'm gonna be on it tighter than slob on a baby!!:babeando:

It looks like a Hybrid to me. It was right next to a Hickory tree.
