I feel your pain..Never ever seen shagbark hickory around here. Seldom see other hickory, but it is around. Never seen white oak with the shagbark like bark either. Do see other species of white oak occasionally. As far as *s-wordwood goes, there is a plethora of that to be had. We have a limitless supply of elm, gum, and sycamore. Plenty of rotting silver maple too...Add bradford pear, willow, paper birch, and yellow pine to the *s-wordwood list.
I’m gonna buy 80 acres of oak trees somewhere near Mountain grove, just so I can cut them down..
Tired of this *s-word.
Nothing like diving head long into an overgrown picker bush, “hedge tree” just to garner 8 rounds and a buncha stick wood..
