I think I'll use an aftermarket case. The crankshaft is most important.
I have this case it's not great but might get someone out of a pinch? Front holes been repaired lots of chain rash. Also have a 394 crank in it and a flywheel if that would work?

I agree. That beeing said, I haven't personally had an issue with an AM case....just wouldn't trust one on a customer saw.
After the 660 build off saw failure, I had enough. Pulled threads can only be laughed off a certain number of times and it's not funny any more.

I've got AM cases on numerous saws (mostly 660s) and have never had a failure, and I've built some that were used professionally for years.

In fact, the local firewood guy said the ported (Cross Jug) Asian MS660 was their favorite saw.

My Doc Al Hybrid also has an AM case and tank holder, and that saw is strong and I have never had any trouble with it.

They mostly used it on the larger logs that their processor could not handle.

I like to use OEM controls on AM tank handles, but I appreciate that a lot of the AM tank handles let you see the fuel level better than OEM.
