Thanks Jeff!Looks real nice Dan. Like factory.
I’d love an assymetric opening on the front, where the top is narrower to the muffler body than the lower portion.
On the Stihls I do, I find myself having to crush the upper portion in a bit to clear the brake. Sometimes the brake will self clearance itself by melting, but I hate that.
Here’s one I used on my 281. Not sure what size it was but it’s perfect now.

Thanks! I use a 3/8 extension and a hammer to flare out the deflector to where I want it. The finish is high temp black by @Glock37! That muffler is dent free and looks better than new! I cut the baffle out that was under the stock deflector so she should breathe pretty good!Similar width as the stock stihl deflector?
You make the deflectors look right at home on your builds...
Don't need no stinking 288 deflector..
Looks like a medium very nice finish.
Why do we Need this extra Port?I was thinking one with this angle rounded. On some models, it hits the brake.
Honestly, this can be done by the end user and I really see no reason or room for improvement.

Loud. Less noise cancellation. Why do we Need this extra Port?
Why dont u make the hole in the dp Cover bigger?
Or would that be too loud?

I really think the muffler with the pipe could use another opening. Here’s an older med one of Joe’s on a 036. I used dupilcolor disk brake paint. I opened up the factory side a bit too. I see how it runs compared to a big pipe View attachment 182095View attachment 182096View attachment 182098
I thought the sameI thought that the pipe would be louder. It’s really not too bad. View attachment 182201
