Only one I would attempt would be 084....

It’s a pain to make them. Best I did was around 4 hours for one. That’s bending 3 sides with 2 flanges and 2 deflectors on there in the stock spot and the flywheel side deflector. There’s 5 or 6 angles and bends best I remember.

I'm talking about making a die to stamp out the can 90% original looking. Then it would be just adding holes.

I am going to look into sourcing a nice 084 muffler for die design.

I got about 6 hrs. and 4 trys on a deflector for my 665/861.
Shep

I sure hope that wasn't with one of my deflectors....

That would be way better. I built them from scratch with flat sheet metal and bent the top, clutch side, and part of the bottom.

Keeping them flat with the 10 gauge flanges was the hardest part of welding a cover onto them.

Yeh, that actually opens up possibilities.

While making matched pairs.

All the same but slightly different...

This gonna be fun.

I am going to work on 2 new designs...

Love to hear thoughts on sizing.

What hits, what fits?

Thank you
Joe
I’d love an assymetric opening on the front, where the top is narrower to the muffler body than the lower portion.

On the Stihls I do, I find myself having to crush the upper portion in a bit to clear the brake. Sometimes the brake will self clearance itself by melting, but I hate that.
