I'm working on a 026 for a coworker. Interesting that the carb nuts were missing when I removed the airfilter?

I’ve seen my share of oddities, but never that. Was it exhibiting signs of an air leak?

The nuts on the air filter are the carb nuts on mine. Get an air filter and you'll have them.

Nuts on an 026 filter are also part of the cover attachment design. 260 filter will give it more air flow but the nuts don't work with the cover. You also will have to clearance the 026 cover to work with the 260 filter in addition to switching out the nuts.

Unfortunately, the nuts are proprietary. If you do end up getting a whole new filter, the metal screen type works better than the flocked.
