I was approached today by someone complaining about an MS250 being hard to pull over...sound familiar?

It there a boss on the cylinder casting where a compression release valve could be easily installed?

Thanks,

Mark

Not really, might have an easy start rewind and associated parts for it but that’s about all I can say for help. The cylinder is all fins all the way around.

I need guidance on an aftermarket 066.

This thing has too much compression and spark advance for a skinny 80 yo to start. Or anyone for that matter. 💩

Even had a monster size friend try and all it does is kick back. (Yes, we drilled the bleed port on the comp release.)

Now I seem to remember something about the ignition coil having a spark retard built in to the OEM coil.
True?
Can someone confirm?

That's what I thought from reviewing photos of saws I'd worked on earlier this year, but I had to ask.

Your not wrong. Those might be 025C with primer blub. But no MS250 as I know of. Some 025 have cylinder with decom boss but not tapped. Not seeing those everyday but they do exist.
