Yeah, a FBM ad.

As if I care - but thought You StihlHeads might get one off....
Kind of a carbed version of the 400.1 but only for sale in other countries besides the USA. I believe they have less power than the 400.1 because of mild porting and loose squish to deal with poor gas in certain parts of the world

271-291 are same saw minus cc the 271 and 261 actually share a piston and are very choked down port wise. Joe ported a 271 and it made more power than a stock 362 on the dyno.
Don’t actually think it ran too bad for a
Clamshell with a widened and lowered intake and a widened exhaust

So, I got this 2024 MS-194C from a pawn shop for $175.00. Seems to be pretty low mileage, starts, runs, and oils just fine. Did I do ok, even with the short dick bar and chain?

Excellent price, they go for 479 in top handle form and closer to 500 in rear. Pull flywheel and advance the timing one cooling fin roughly, open the small holes in muffler baffle and the outlet some then retune the carb to just clean up in the cut and it will become a completely different saw power wise. I have a 194t and if I saw this one in a local pawn shop for 150-175 it would be going home with me also. They are a clamshell saw but hold up well also the small style metal spike from the 171-251 will fit. The 250/251 spike is more aggressive than the 171 style.

Thanks, will do. I'm going to use it along with my Echo CS-303T for trimming small stuff. If I found the carcass of the top handle version would it be possible to convert it to top handle? I prefer top handle for a small saw but rear handle is certainly not a deal breaker.

Yes if it’s all there they can be changed
