Hunting season is fast approaching! Pheasants are finally coming back a bit. .
Around here they never did come back .Fall plowing, prilled fertizer .loss of habitat pretty much wiped them out .I blew the tail feathers off of one in 1971 and that was last one afield I have ever seen .We've got turkeys though which we didn't have . Plenty of white tail deer we also didn't have .

Thankya Sir! That's good to hear, because that is the plan! I read somewhere it really helps on the 660's, more-so than the 461's but I figured I'd just do it with all 3. I also plan on getting full wraps on the 2 461's.
If you're patient some money can be saved. HL deals is sending $37 savings on Ms-180 cylinder set and 661 maxflow. A couple misceleaneous bits added to $.03 over free shipping. Just saying

Good year to be a Sooners fan, been one since the Boz played for Switzer, been to a few bedlam games in Norman. Do you think straight gas could cause that much damage to a piston or something got in cylinder? Just curious

Don't know
To lean and lots of hours I think.

Guy did not want to spend that much on it.
I think I'll rebuild it and do a port job

I'm not so sure you can do much with a 250 .It's obviously not hung .If it were me, which it's not I'd get transfer off the cylinder, sand the piston, new rings ,gut the muffler and call it a day .Plus I'd run 32 to one mix ,which I do anyway on all my stuff .If it runs ,fine .If it tosses it's cookies you are only out your time and the price of a set of rings .

I agree with Mr Smith, although my mix ratio is different & I use ester synthetic oil ( Motul).

A set of rings is 20 bux and the piston w/rings is only 30 these days. Pays to price check with Stihl even when considering going cheap or aftermarket.
31 bucks from Sthil , probably the way I'll go , oil pump may be bad also , I'll check pressure and vacuum also

Don’t know why it posted twice for the pictures, I had some spruce burls that were too large for my 41” bar on the 075 or 090. The next bar from Stihl was 59” in the roller nose large mount so since I wasn’t into paying 400$ for a bar and another 80$ for a chain I ended up with this 56” off eBay. Need to drill the bar for the auxiliary Oiler and I’m sure the 066 isn’t going to like this bar very well even with the Oiler on it. If I can finish these burls I might have my uncle mill the bar to fit my 075 or 090 if I have room to move the oil hole since the bar isn’t very tall

Who knows might have been a waste to get such a long bar in the small stihl mount at the very least I’ll need to port the 066 for running on this bar maybe. Have to see how it does I guess it will be mostly soft wood milling for this set up.

I would imagine the 066 could get the job done providing the bar and chain setup is 3/8's full skip (or a semi-skip milling setup) on a 7 pin sprocket. The auxiliary oiler will certainly help.

When I mill with a long bar, 50" to 72", semi-skip chisel or full skip keeps the chips from loading up the process.20190428_131152.jpg
Semi-skip with 8 pin drive sprocket throws the chips off the 60" cannon:thumbup: let us know how that forester works for you. I've got a 72" that is stiffer than expected, and may use soon on a near 6 foot diameter stump that is 20 feet tall I'm told. Once it's down milling will use the same bar when close to center.

I have a 72” double ended mill too but takes two to run so I bought this 56” to max out my 48” mill so I can do more trees without help
I got the 046 planning on 72" cut with dual powered cannon. The 72 dual cannon wood only reach 60" cut, so it was sold and I found a ported 661-c after the 72" forester showed up on amazon. Now a used (a lot) 661 is on hand to be built into a stroker
