Doesn’t show 056mag in the descriptions, wonder if stihl called the 056mag an 057 for a short period of time. I think the letters on the 057 designation would be anti-vibration magnum with wrap handle, electronic ignition and quickstop chain brake. Just a guess since the saw was apparently in the 045/056 saw chassis.

At the moment, there is no version with a wrap around handle existing of the MS 500i.

Worked on an ms 191t talk about a strangely designed saw. Had to pull the engine out of the case to rebuild the carb because of the reed induction and how the carb is bolted on. Between the air filter set up and the plastic intake duct between the filter and carb I can see why it’s choked up some. I opened muffler up rebuilt carb and advanced the timing a little. It did make a noticeable gain but I think it’s still underpowered for a 47cc saw.

Early 031 with Tilly HU has been pizzin me off. Pulled the high speed check two times. A couple of trips to the spa. New line and filter. Not 100% yet. Looking for a Walbro I guess. Case, boot and impulse are tight. Will get new seals in time. Walbro if I can find one on the discount.

Gave it something to think about yesterday. Managed to drop and buck up the top 3rd with it. After that, bigger guns needed.

Update on dad's MS311 , changed coil and saw running great , so far the Chinese coil doing great , as it produced great spark .saving several dollars

None that I'm aware of. The MS880 version two coil will fit, but the RPM limit is stupid low.

I've been lucky. I spent about 30 years on a roof......never fell. I did crash thru some ceiling joists once and broke some ribs though......

You fell...that sucks. I fell 3 stories one night in an abandoned house with no decking. I landed in the basement in 3 feet of beer bottles on my back. Winter time so it only cost a parka coat and some missed breaths. Lucky dog.

I kicked out on a 40 foot pole .Got one hook back in, belt up under my arms and the other clawing the air .My head hit my right foot then the pole .I could predict the weather for about 5-6 years after that .My right knee has never been the same since . I was 34 then now I'm 71
