I just need a crank for a 261, got one here that’s nice shape that I bought as a parts saw but lower rod bearing is loose

Might have one. Will check my 261 box.

If @Woodwackr doesnt have one, HLSupply has aftermarket ones for relatively affordable, if you want... i have had very good experiences with them, and they are site supporters

I knew what he was getting at and yes gentleman owns the forum, we definitely need to give proper credit to him for having this place for information and just general conversation with other chainsaw nuts.
Bruce gave us an alternative to what had become a nightmare of a forum to a great many of us. For that, I'll be eternally grateful to him.

1141 could be a261 or 271/291, but usually the bearings are still on 271/291 cranks due to being clamshell so i would say its likely a 261 as well
Never gotten to looking but has anyone compared a 271/291 crank to a 261? What were the differences if they have..

It came out of a 261.
I thought the 1141 was odd

Should be on the coil, but odds are it’s before the 2.1 so should be start in cold start let idle 45-90 seconds and shut off without touching throttle

Thank sort of what i figured.... I did the carb kit and found an interesting thing,, this throttle block was on backward,, allowing only 1/3-1/2 throttle,, yet it pass MDG,, I was given the saw scored with no history,, you never know what you will find digging.. not mtronic carb pictured but same item

When I was a tech, I found that most common vehicle problems were the same things that happen no matter how much technology is involved. The actual electronics were usually pretty reliable even if the vehicle was a POS overall.
