Can you put the balls and race back in and use some grease to spread the balls and then use a puller??
Possibly a punch
Maybe lil heat
This is how it came :p
The rest of the bearing is in an unknown location 🤣

A puller, hmm. I'll have to fab up something to make one of my pullers work, but, hmm

did you put it in an oven or use a heat gun, or a torch? A can of compressed air for cleaning computers can help to rapidly cool bearing races. If you have one, get the case hot and then hold the can of air upside down and spray the bearing race.

Several good options already posted @Woodwackr , maybe a pilot bearing puller of the appropriate size would get behind the race? May even be able to rent one from your local auto parts store...

Also, got to run a freshly rebuilt (has about 8 tanks thru it since the new top end) ms500i side by side with my ported 044 today... not sure if i should be unimpressed with the 500i, or very impressed with my mild woods ported (widened intake and exhaust, added a about 1.5° to both as well as smoothing out the bottom of the transfers instead of leaving the giant lip, and wdening the opening of the lowers a touch, and squish is still a massive .032"), 044... they run about neck and neck, and i have a lot of room to go hotter on the 044... the edge barely goes to the 500i, snappier revs and a bit better at holding rpm in the cut...

I would say unimpressed by the 500i. A good ported 044/440 should beat a stock 500i by about 25%.

Thats kinda what i figured, its got the 044 on revs and pulling torque by a hair, and my arm scales says its got about a pound less in the 500 weight wise...

Also fun to note, the 500i had noticeably more vibes from the chain, running 33rs on the 500, rakers about 34-35 thou, and the Neotec 33rs copy with rakers at close as i could measure 33-34 thou... and the neotec chain ran noticeably smoother, both fresh off the round grinder... the 500 was very jumpy in the cut, basically could pull right thru the av springs, for what its worth, 500 had a 20" county line bar ( it was free to me, so it went in my bar collection) and the 044 was running the 25" neotec light bar that was on sale for $40 a month or so ago off amazon...

Brad Seals suggested that. I’ll hit O’Reileys tomorrow and see if they have tomorrow.
We do have a Harley shop nearby and they would have the tool.

Ha, that exactly what I have been doing on builds of late. I have no lathe or timing wheel, so…:p
So far, results have been good.
I only killed one cylinder on a Shindy 360 but, had 2 extras, so, all good :p

Wow, that that’s cool. I could weld a big nut onto the center and use a slide hammer.
Better yet…weld in a thick suspension washer…have some …then weld a 3/4” nut to the washer. Heat it up again and pound it out with a big punch 😀

In going through the cylinders I have, most seem to be 064, 52mm, both KS and Mahle. All but a couple have transfer and some are beyond my skills to restore. Are the early oe cylinders worth sending out for bore/sleeve and/or re-coating?
The 066 stuff mostly either later with decomp or aftermarket (4H) 56mm. I’m hoping to salvage one of the early flat-top 54s but the few that I have are in bad shape.
At least the cases and cranks have all cleaned up and seem usable.

Well, good news/bad news...LOL the ms362 (that i initially thought was an mtronic, but isnt) that i am rebuilding has made noise and made chips fly... thats the good news...bad news is it wont idle to save its life due to bad check valves, new carb will be here saturday, and will likely get installed monday, the bit of full throttle that i gave it in the cut, its an impressive amount of torque, considering the smaller displacement... pulled a 20" bar in dry ash no issues... aside from not idling...LOL
