@Wilhelm

You should not be looking at saws from the dark side.

Nice clean saw
The sticker on the chain brake flag is a Stihl dealer inventory/parts delivery sticker, that means the flag has been replaced.
Guy wants 500€uro, no thanks!

My Dolmar's serve me well, I feel no desire to look under another gals skirt. ;)

I'm kind of anxious to run it against an OEM 372xp to see how it does?( I have a blue one but feel the comparison would be unfair).
I know my ms441 B.B. saw is a beast and have been pleased with it . I also did a base gasket delete on it.
Reading through the threads kind of lead me to believe that the 044 was more of an out dated saw with better performance saws available, but I'm pretty sure that is "opinion "now after running this thing.
I know the factory squish might have played a part in that though because it was closer to .036 and I'm running .018 so maybe thats the torque ticket for it? Anyway I'll be ordering an OEM elasto start handle.

MMWS 084 Arctic I’ve been working on for awhile and finally round up the parts for. @Glock37 Powdercoated the cases and recoil and put the saw together. It needed a few more things to complement the awesome work Mike did - So I added the HD setup that color matched my shroud thanks to @jmester. Also added NOS brake handle, clutch cover, spikes and a NOS tank. Mike asked for pics a while back so figured I’d post some up now that it’s complete.

Well I ended up bitting the bullet. Ordered a 3/4 wrap handle for my 500. Got it from a store in Australia since my dealer didn't even know when he would see them. But I did get it like $10 cheaper even with shipping.

Edit: if anyone has the heated handle version I'd love to see how it's wired and if it uses the same generator.

If anyone wanted to make their 500i a winter it's not gonna be a fun adventure. Got the new updated manual, they use different modules, in normal stihl fashion, stuff can't be easy.
EDIT: I can't even say stihl I feel like this is most winter saws from any brand.

In the service manual it shows different plugs which hold extra wires for the handle/grip/switch loop.
- I'm also wonder if the pin out itself is different or if they've separated the same two pins into four.
- If they are four separate pin outs what is the module doing why is it needed to go through the module?
- If they aren't would splicing into the standard unit's 2 pin socket cause too much load on the connectors?

While I don't have the IPI for the W yet I'll just sit this here as a placeholder. I'm kind of under the assumption the generator is the same.

Winter Control unit # ?????

Stihl 041 AV Restoration

I’m restoring an old 041 AV. It’s all original OEM except for the cancer rings. Media blasted all parts and painted origin Stihl colors.
