I’m new to this group but I’m rebuilding a 084av and looking for a few parts, plastics, muffler, and cylinder! Or curious of what it would take to use a 088 cylinder on 084 cases so I can use 088 plastics! Thanks
I'm not sure if its really a sap type thing? I have an 088 and my understanding is that the 2 saws are designed differently and don't really have much in the terms of body or cylinder compatibility. Hopefully someone with 084 experience can speak to that. Before I bought my 088 the owner couldn't remember what model he had so I researched both and found quite a gew differences.

036QS Part needed.
I have an 036QS from the local Fire Dept. that is used as a vent saw, the part needed is the metal break handle mounting bracket as seen in the IPL picture
part # 1125 790 9101
the best I can figure is it comes with the handle which is still in good condition but I am unable to find either, any help is highly appreciated. Thanks20210114_230819.jpg

That may be a tall order right there. If the plate is just damaged but still available, fabrication may be your answer. Otherwise, you may be able to modify (or use) a more commonly available plate from another QS system such as the 038 or 048 variants..., or it may actually be the same plate used on those saws.

So I have a 046 that Im replacing the bearings and seals.
On the flywheel side I got a 6202 from the bearing house.
I see the original bearing had like a steel seal facing into the saw.
The bearing was also quite dry, hadnt failed,, I broke the plastic cage removing the seal..
New bearing has a plastic/rubber like seal,, do I leave it or remove it??
You would think removing it would allow the 40-1 mix to lube it??
What ya all do here??

I am not sure an 088 cylinder would be best with the clip on muffler design. Based on some quick ipl searching the base gasket part number is different from the 084 to 088. The 084 piston and cylinder can still be bought new from stihl
