i think they do know that there is a few in the state’s already, I find it hard to believe that they don’t look in on these forums some or watch YouTube.
They do.
Your three to four years behind factory R&D project beginnings. They won't be telling you that.
Marketeers change little late in the game... it screws up production schedules. Global market... or it was till put on hold this month.
Recalls and updates in tool and vehicles production is common place now.

Sailsoutthedoor will always be the bottom line.

Wtf crickets... You guys have hundreds of them in use. My 660's are all still stock but a muffler mod.
If I recall a lot of builders tried and didn’t like pop ups for various reason. If I recall when I asked tree monkeys opinion I was told they are a waste of time because they mess with the fuel burn across the piston top so the extra compression was useless almost.

Possible. Never heard that or had problems with high octane fuels, which I don't use in saws, except when using large pop ups like 0.350 plus in much larger holes over 2.5"to 5"
It is for a mill not square wood. I make trees square. Different thing than most are doing with chainsaws.
I just wonder of I can stay below 200 psi with a pop up and gasket delete. All my other smaller saws landed near 180. My stock 660 with a gasket blows 185 so... The 066 is up there also... more I'd guess. Broke my tester with it :D
It brakes stuffs.
They have no machine work in them. All oe gasket in place. My PP455 is much lower near 160. 361 or 362 have 12-14 squish no base gasket up to almost 180 no machine work. I hear lower numbers all the time. Guess my maintenance is just fine. They do have carbon in them now so that could be a huge factor, idk. Not cleaning them to find out.

Your running 12-14 thousandths squish on a saw? I still won’t go below 18 on a small saw and 20-25 on a larger one. The compression and the strain of milling you’d think would shorten life a bit.

I also do a bunch of milling so very tough use on a saw most of mine are all stock except open mufflers to get rid of heat.

Yep... needs ported and westcoast av spring, clutch cover, dogs, roller and oiler kit installed then I like it.
Well I'm definitely going to try a AF 52mm jug and piston, maybe do a little woods porting and a gasket delete depending on squish , but since I have 25$ in the original purchase and maybe I'll spent another 150.00 in parts it's not like I can't experiment with it.
What's the AV kit your talking about ? I've heard about the other stuff in the west coast kit.

Nothing wrong with mtronic in my opinion local tree service has 3 ms362c’s and they’ve held up well especially how they get treated at times.

The R package saws have stiffer av springs that are a nice improvement over the floppy stock springs. Not sure what the part # is. The little foam AV buffer in the bottom spring pocket is always gone or disintegrated on used 441’s or 361’s I worked on, so also check for that.

All the rubber/ foam av mounts were gone! Can I use the black ones to replace the cream colored mush?

My 041av Electronic . Just got it Monday so it not cleaned up yet . Got it for $90.00 and shipping . Was supposed to only run on choke but I put a tank of VP with mechanic in a can in it , pulled twice on choke and it popped so I took it off choke and it started and idled on the second pull . Looks to be the original hard nose Stihl bar 20" . Muffler to cylinder bolts are loose so I gotta pull it apart enough to tighten them and clean it up a bit .

MS 261 CM #2 , don't have pictures of the first one I bought . Bought the first one new , this one had been used twice according to the guy I bought it from . Looking at the muffler I don't doubt that a bit .

Sweet 041AV. But the bar is technically a sprocket tip, not a roller tip..., more commonly referred to as a 'roller nose'. Here's a pic of an older one courtesy of @Frank bierce from another thread here.

Poge ,
Changed it . I do know the difference but like many other things , I generally use roller to refer to anything that is not a hard nose bar. Kinda like calling a stick or switch or a tomato stake a stob . My youngest son corrects me on that one pretty regular but it hasn't taken yet .

Yes I am. Looking for max power and least waste. Very easy to know when it gets too close. I've run forty thousands or less on four inch plus holes with a rod twice this long turning ten or more. It's all relative to heat and rpm. Steel rods mind you. Don't try it with aluminum rods... oh hell I don't like aluminum rods for anything high rpm. They get long fast.

Going for eighteen on the next 660 jug. Set my 394 at eighteen. Might be too tight. Time will tell. Very easy to open up.
