I was just told thru eBay.co.uk that it was a restricted item, and that I'll be refunded fully. Probably has to do with the fact they were used engines, with potential oil and fuel still swimming inside.

California covered my root canal today - the cost of two brand new 5100's. Had the freedom to get up from the dental chair and walk to my car without signing a thing

Then, with the tooth pain gone, I cut some more firewood with the 7900! It's breaking in nicely, keeping an eye on the tune. My pops is already hinting that he may want one now, as a backup for his 620p. Had to break the news, that the 620p would become his backup after trying out the dolmar. hah

The Makita 6421/7900 has been breaking in nicely. Seems like the oiler was pushing enough for my 28" echo bar, but when I pulled the clutch cover, the entire clutch was drowning in bar oil.

Back apart it goes! I'm going to try and re-seal the original rubbers, with a little CA glue. I imagine the seal of the output hose, to the oiler was the failing point.

Gave the oil tank a flush, and backflushed the filter. Are the oil tank vents common points of failure? Could that be a reason this thing would a mess running or not?

Also, tossed in a fresh momentary switch while the oiler is in the parts wash (Husqvarna part no 537419001)

The Echo 7310 bar (first pic) I was running, had an angled oiler port, which was slim. Also looks like I just broke the back side of the bar, somehow. The chain I was running was definitely a couple links too short, maxing out the tensioner. Maybe a little JB weld to fix, and not run that chain again?

I've got a forester 24" in husky mount, that I'll give a go, and see if that makes any difference. Seems to have a larger port, although still angled.

I believe they manufacture the bar that way, I do not believe it is broken.

Mark is correct, I seem to recall maybe Jacob J saying the old bars were solid right there and had a tendency to crack so manufacturers just started cutting a notch in there as a preventative measure.

As Mark said, the Echo bars tail looks to be factory like that.

And, as I assumed correctly - those tiny angled oiler holes are crap.
Grind them open, less pressure on the pump, more oil to the chain.

Oh right on! Glad I didn't screw up the bar. Thank's y'all. I'll open up the oiler ports

She's all re-assembled, with freshly sealed oiler hoses. I'll check for leaks in a few hours

Edit: No leaks! Fresh caps - 550xp fuel cap, for the oil tank, and Echo DCS-2500t oil cap (P100004610), for the fuel tank. The echo caps are a stronger feeling, but don't work on lots of saws due to the bulky design.
