Yep, that is what TRYING to buy OEM Dolmar/Makita parts has come to, my last 1000€ order took 3 months to fill.

I used to get Dolmar parts within 3-5 days shipped from Germany.

I have ~$250 worth of smalls on a quote right now. Mostly tubing and filters. Starting with the little stuff and will get into coils and whatnot later.

Have a question since you've been running them for a long time...are the throttle cables something to worry about, or do they just keep working?

I am about 1k+ € in various small and medium parts.
Won't be getting coils nor cases, too expensive - that is what parts saws are for.

I haven't had a single throttle cable issue on any of mine.
I guess if they are cheap get a spare for each model You own, other than that don't worry.

Being a relative noob to the line, I don't have any reference for common part failures to mitigate. Been getting the obvious stuff out of the way first. I plan for my saws to all run until I am physically unable to use them anymore. Hoping for at least two more decades before my body gives out.

Well i've run into a problem, the oil tank plug I ordered does not fit at all, barely goes a thread in. Anyone able to shed any light? On the plus side air filter and fuel tank plug fitted up fine. Might have to grab a second filter for storage. Localish I also picked up a Solo 694 flywheel and coil.
The black plug is the correct one, and so is the part number 010 114 050.

I am assuming that the orange plug is off Your saw.
Maybe someone forced it into the hole and bent the case enough that the OEM plug no longer fits?!
This is the first time I've seen a orange plug on a 9000/9010.

I will have a good look tonight and see if the hole looks bent up or something, its a really PITA. I did try the caps from all my other saws and none worked, the new cap did go into my 7901 though.

The 9000/9010 oil tank cap is the same for both oil & fuel tank on the 64xx/73xx/79xx series saws

Sorted, maybe the case on mine is made to minimum tolerance. I had to reduce thread major diameter and there is a tight spot on the lead in, once in screws up fine.

Asking for a little help here. Father in law wants to sell his saw. He bought it new, does not remember the year. It is of no interest to me. I’d like to post it in the classifieds but I have 0 knowledge of the value or if there is any. I see a non running 116 sold for $175. Any help is appreciated.

Saw runs great, I have used it a few times out of peer pressure. He thinks it hung the moon, I prefer my ported saws. He has gone to a MS170, and still never uses it, he just does not get around very well, nearly confined to a wheelchair.
