Nose heavy?, I would like it that way given the situations you would
be using such a saw, let it do the work.
Yes, nose heavy.
Won't stay sitting on the PH with full fluid tanks, tips forward onto the bar.

I expected the 9010's weight to actually keep her sitting on the PH.
I guess she wouldn't tip over to the bars nose if I were utilizing the PH's rear bar studs?! o_O
Alas, I am utilizing the front studs.

I don't mind the nose heaviness.
I just didn't expect it since a PS-7900 with the large US style 2 spikes will "sit" only just on her PH with the same B&C setup.

This setup, PS-9010 & 36" B&C, will only be used for bucking large firewood logs in my back yard. :)

Turkey oak, my favorite - should be fun taking them apart. :)

Rarely anyone wants turkey oak, almost no one can process logs this size - as such I am lucky getting logs this size and species.
All the crotch and knot sections will require noodling, but I count that as "fun-time" too. :D

What all can cause magnesium to corrode? I found one little bubble where gray stuff expanded through the paint about 1mm tall on my 9010. I drilled into it some with a carbide burr, and it looks like the gray goes deeper, who knows how deep. Will it continue to corrode? I wonder if it was a manufacturing defect since it is located somewhat far from the elements being in the middle behind the muffler a half inch from the base of the cylinder.

It happens on other models too, but as you describe its location, it can be fixed if ever needs be,
a tig and some filler at worst.
If its not structural and in a place it can't weaken the case then it only has to hold pressure and vacuum
and keep the mix in.

It's kinda weird because the fresh material I drilled down to has a dark gray center, but picking at it with a scribe doesn't seem any softer than the shiny magnesium. I figured I'd cover it with a spot of JB weld to prevent any more moisture from getting there.

Latest acquisition to the fleet. Have a few 7900's ,7300's, 7910's, 7310's. Never had a 6400. Let's see what it is all about.

Just keeps chugging along with a 20" B&C, nice torquey saw.

Mine is factory stock and I still love her the way she is.

I always try to wear my hearing protection when working with gas powered tools. Even wear it with battery powerd tools. So it doesn't bother me if they are loud

My 7900 brand new. After the muffler mod. with using Aspen2, this is how the spark plug looks like now, after 3 tank of fuel.
It is strange, that I made all the photos, in the same time, same plug, but between differet light circumstances. (indoor, outdoor, garage)
Do not You think running a little bit "lean"?
