I lost a 9010 piston pin clip. I keep my thumb pinned over them when installing, so they can't go flying, but it found a way to escape. It also escaped my sensitive hearing I rely on finding where such thing land.

Custom 14mm bar adapter


Getting ready to pair up my PS-9010's with my D009 mount 36" B&C.

So the 14mm studs with those adapters let you use a Hooskie bar instead of the Stihl large mount?
Any adapters made that allows you to use Stihl 3003 mount bars?

Pick Your poison, 9mm, 12mm, 14mm - don't matter to me anymore.
All custom made by me.



The OEM 14mm studs have been turned down to 9mm so they can fit D009/9mm bars.
The adapters provide compatibility for Stihl 12mm bars and old school Dolmar 14mm bars.

work to turn down, re thread and then make all those adapters.

The studs were actually easy to turn down once set up, while making them I wished I had more spares.
The bar adapters take time to mill and post process free hand.

Setting up the mill for any work is time consuming.
Once set up, making multiples of something is a matter of workpiece supply and preparation.

It is fun to "make" something.

9010 air filter converted to nylon mesh because the old design is coarser than window screen, and was shedding it's fuzz coating into the engine. The nylon is easier to clean, and flows much better too.

No, there are OEM felt & nylon mesh AF's available.

Modding the 9010 muffler is a pain in the butt!!!



After this one is done I will mod a 7900 muffler just to relax.

36" 115DL full comp takes a while to hand file.



The 9010 balances surprisingly poor set up with a solid steel 36" bar.
But damn does she pull this setup well!

...and the chain was dull on the first three bucking and one noodling cut!
Not proud of it, but it is the only 115DL chain I have.

With the now sharpened chain and soon modded muffler 36" should be a breeze for this beast.

What type of glue was used. And I’m sure by now you realize it was the air filter and not the muffler that got the nylon mesh. Nice!
