The SLR base (red) will actually seat into the bolt supports (blue) and upon assembly of the two muffler halves be pushed and secured against the mufflers back half (green).
Once the muffler is reassembled that SLR base can't go nowhere.

I agree.... !
Now it is clear!
Thank You!

Wilhelm,
I found a picture of yours.

" Uncrimp with side cutter pliers"

Did you use heat? Or just made simply cold with a side cutter pliers?

Non-Stainless mufflers on all my large frame Dolmar's, as such I uncrimped them like that cold.
It was fairly easy too.

While uncrimping do not bend the metal open too much, stay under 90° - that will make recrimping much easier.

Thank You! I try...

I was thinking if I grind the top of the jointing part ( remain 2 vertical parts) and than fix the 2 part with some kind of special muffler glue? Could it provide strong hold?

Sorry about the poor drowing :)

I haven’t messed with muffler patching adhesive in decades but I don’t think the stuff I remember would stand a chance against the heat in a chainsaw muffler

Even a modded one

Guess if that’s all you have access to it’s worth a try

I am curious now…

Back in the day it was a gray putty like adhesive in a squeeze tube

If you had a hole in a car muffler you were supposed to grind it back to bare metal and squeeze this stuff on there to patch it

I honestly don’t ever remember it working as advertised for me or anyone else

Who knows what is available today though

Adhesives have come a long way

Well my mind is going back 40+ years here

Anyone remember muffler bandages?

A gray strip of some high temp fabric infused with some kind of hard setting plaster/adhesive?

You wrapped it around a muffler and held it in place with a light black wire that came with the kit

I think once it got wet it was supposed to set up rock hard and be a permanent fix

Bwahahahaha

The crap we used to buy to try and salvage something we should have just replaced

But when you are young and poor….

I don't have any experience with said glue.

I recommend uncrimping the muffler.

If You want send the muffler to me and pay return shipping and I will mod it for You.
Just a suggestion.

I remember the tape and the cement.

It lasted about 30 minutes around town if you were lucky and disappeared very quickly if you hit highway speeds.

So thinking back I honestly have not owned a vehicle in probably 30 years that ever developed a hole in the muffler like I used to see so often in the 60s, 70s, 80s

Not sure if its design, materials, or corrosion protection but something is better

Apologies for the derail...
