Anyone have a favorite online parts dealer?

I've reached out to the local Makita dealer and they don't seem interested in selling Dolmar parts. (Or anything else.)

I refuse to sell Stihl, hate their dealer exclusive thing and pricing parts like they’re made of unobtainium. I think it’ll be echo next, I’m liking their stuff.

I got a little 30cc Echo for a limbing saw years ago, and it still goes into the woods with me every time as a backup saw and limber. It has a 20" bar (for less bending over to get at limbs, some days I think about switching to a 36 ;) ) and pulls it happily in small wood.

Being a smaller saw it gets a less hours on it than my Dolmar, but I have never touched that Echo outside of muffler mod, carb tuning, and regular bar/chain/sprocket stuff. I don't even know how many bolts that Dolmar has shaken out of it. Went over it last week and replaced 4. (Still my favorite saw, though.)

How much worse is Stihl's parts pricing? For the price of 3 Dolmar mufflers, I can buy the whole saw brand new and have $100 left over. (New saw comes with a muffler, too- wonder if I could part it out and turn a profit on the whole deal).

Echo's homeowner and farm lines are the best in the world, bar none. They cost alot less too. You can get a magnesium case 50cc Echo CS-490 for the same cost as a plastic case 40cc Husky 440 or about $50.00 less than a plastic case 45cc MS-250. No comparison whatsoever!

My dolmar dealer also switched to Echo. He really wanted to change to Husqvarna, but there is a husky dealer nearby, so he wasn't allowed to do so.

50cc shootout!!!

5105 vs 115i vs 545 markii vs 62cc timberpro china saw (komatsu zenoah knockoff).
All with the same .325 full chisel chain except for the 115i (3/8 full chisel).
Wood is freshly cut pine just under 40cm diameter.
All performed well, but my heart goes to the Dolmars.

5105 stock saw
-6,11 sec
-5,73 sec

115i muffler modded
-5,16 sec
-5,08 sec

545 markii stock saw (still on first tank of fuel)
-5,85 sec
-5,69 sec
-5,88 sec

Timberpro 62cc china saw with muffler mod
-8,40 sec
-7,49 sec
-7,06 sec

Where I live, you will often find two Stihl dealers on the same street within a few hundred yards of each other. I can think of at least two examples of that.

The Echo route seems to be the way to go for a lot of (ex)-Dolmar/Makita dealers.
In germany I've seen a couple of them now having Echo on their shelves

I wonder if there would be any positives for a Dolkita dealer to switch to Oleo-Mac/Efco? They are almost completely unknown in this area and their better products look to be good quality and well priced.

We sell Efco, I don’t personally like their saws much. Heavy and underpowered in my experience. Waiting for parts can be slow, and no new tech!
