No it was untouched, looking at the piston I may be able to salvage it with just a new ring and clips. Intake and exhaust are perfect, it's scored directly above the wrist pin.

I picked up a Olympic/Efco 962 at auction 4 or 5 years ago that was ran lean ring was seized cleaned every thing up with a new ring. It ran fine gave it to my younger brother it is now his main fire wood saw he cuts 3-4 cord a year.

Hi Dolmar friends,

finished reviewing my SACHS-DOLMAR 133 I bought in April this spring.
Saw is technically in very good shape but the clutch side of her was extremly
dirty with some goo firm as rock and sticky like dog-*s-word.
So I spent hours and hours to get the debris off her I even had to resort to high-pressure blaster to get the crap off the oil pump's area.

This is her now:

The 133 was the last one of the big SACHS-DOLMARS missing in my collection. Now I have
1 x 123, 1 x 133, 1 x 133 super, 2 x 143, 1 x 153 and a 166.

I hope to find some time to take a picture of them all together soon...

In Germany you won't find a 143 too often as well.

There is also 133 super extra and the 143 mx.

If you consider the "extras" a separate model or not, may depend on the national market.
In Germany the designation "extra" was used to differentiate the professional models from the ordinary range. So "extra"-saws included 110, 115, 115i, 116si, 120si, 133 super, 143 and 166. Later PS-6000i, PS-6800i and PS-9000 were members of the "extra" models.
In other markets, it might have been different. I once read a bulletin for north american Dolmar dealers where a certain product enhancement was introduced to the 133 super and the enhanced saws were to be designated 133 super extra.
A little bit the same for the 143 mx: These were AFAIK all 143 after the transfers were altered in 1988 but the "mx" wasn't stressed equally in all countries.
If you would be a little picky, then you could also differentiate between the regular solid state ignition and the optional point type ignition, that was available for some of the big SACHS-DOLMARS.
So if shelf space and money weren't a problem, eben the few big ladies would offer enough variations to keep a collector busy for quite some time...

I for one am happy with what I have so far. I really love these powerful saws!

I dont wanna start a war. I count them as different models. 133 vs 133 super is porting difference, 133 super extra is a 133 super with plastic fueltank. 143 mx extra plastic fuel tank. Then are there also different exhaust types on these models.

Neither do I and didn't take your reply as an offence!

But as said earlier, in german market, all 133 super had the "extra" designation regardless of
plastic or metal fuel tank.
And the reason for different mufflers was IMHO mostly due regulatory needs:
Some countries like the US demanded spark arrestors while others didn't.
Thats your different mufflers, I think.

Just to bump this up...
My 133 was missing the chain-catch-bolt. Took look in the IPL and found it needs the one with M10 left thread. Didn't have that part in stock but ebay had one an quite cheap, so I bought it.
Part arrived and trying to mount it I had to discover: No M10 left thread needed but M8 right thread!
:BangHead: A part I had in stock. Lesson to lern is: Never trust the IPLs.

OK, serious now: The crankcases of early 112 through 119 had a M8 bore with right going thread to hold the chain catch. That was changed at some time mid 80s to become M10 left going.
The 123-133 apparently have undergone the same change, only my oldest IPL for them is dated 1987 and doesn't cover the older version of the crankcase.
