I don't have any old spare bar sitting around, as a matter of fact right now I have more saws than bars! :D

Also, I don't need nor want a 90cc racer. ;)

But I do like the idea of being able to run three different pitches on one bar/saw with the option to swap sprocket tooth count just for the fun of it. :)

I have this 24" large Dolmar mount Dolmar branded hard nose bar that takes 90DL in .325" and 80DL in 3/8" - how many DL do I need in .404"? o_O
I tried calculating loop length and came up with 72-74DL.

Do not compare Oregon and Carlton 24" D009 mount bars to this one as it is actually shorter.
My 84DL 3/8" chain is too long for my large Dolmar mount bar.

I want to have chains in each pitch for this bar for play, possibly try larger sprockets for fun. ;)

My standard 24” bar for the 7900 is 76dl of 404 so guessing you’re right on the money at 72-74dl. Sometimes it can change depending on rim size.

404 semichisel (actually old school 404 .058 chipper...)! is what I use when I cut all day long. Keeps an edge forever even in dirty wood conditions.

I will take the saw, bar and rims along to my local Husqvarna dealer and see what DL count they will come up with. :)

I do not care about all day long cutting, I am craving to try out .404" full chisel. ;)

Does anyone know how to interpret this matrix:

ps-7900_crank-side-ms.jpg

I'm talking about the rectangular 5 by 12 grid which seems to replace the old style rosetta with production year in the center and month indicated on the ring of digits surrounding it?
The pic is taken from a 2007 PS-7900 (or PS-7300). In the left side's column there are two-digit numbers from 05 to 09, probably the year of manufacture. Do the dots represent production months, the last dot (here 07 - 8) representing the production date of the shown crankcase?
What do the other dots stand for and why do certain fields don't carry a dot?

Just curious!

Should be possible, can't supply the colored inlays however.
Scanner & printer can get it done.

I'd be willing to help, just send me the inlays and I'll send them back to You with copies or digital copy in JPEG/PDF.

Don’t need the fancy stuff, I planned on writing on it with a Magic Marker!

Good, drop me a P/N.

I have access to a scanner so I could provide scan-files of the inlays in case someone
wants to print them out. I could also provide a disc image file rather than shipping
plastic cross the ocean but I assume, a 750 MB file would nuke most mailboxes...
