I've been reading all over the place and a lot of people have talked about doing this. I know it's not necessary for most normal use saws, but it would be rad to have unlimited.

What about the whip or flex makes them less desirable? If you aren't a pro does it make cutting more dangerous?

Ok this is definitely a candidate for the most trivial question possible, but...
Do any of you smart guys know where I can get a replacement 20" long DOLMAR branded bar scabbard for my 5105?
I found some MAKITA branded scabbards online, but that clashes with my orange n black DOLMAR logo.

Thanks

Germany, in stock, not too expensive either (like under 10$).

Shipping will exceed the cost of a scabbard.

Not sure you can get makita ones there but I'd be in if so. Group scabbard buy
I tried initiating a group buy, it failed.

You should be able to easily get Makita scabbards in the US considering that the Dolmar brand is suspended and replaced with Makita.
Try:

Getting just a scabbard from Europe would turn expensive due to shipping.

Let me get this straight -- you want me to call up Nate and explain to him that I left the scabbard he shipped with the saw I bought from him loose in the back of my truck and the scabbard flew away while I was driving on the highway? Do I have that right? :)

wrooster
How could I have known that the scabbard You had came from Nate and You allowed it to fly away.

Still, he is bound to have scabbards in stock and he is in the US which will make shipping more acceptable.

I'd call him and tell the whole story - might just make his day! :p
