I've got a PP5020 & a PR5020,what's the difference between the 2? I've had one guy tell me that one was yellow & black & the other is red & black (?) Yeah, right.
The PP5020 was the first style of the 5020, the PR5020 was the second and last style which had more rounded covers, here's pics of both. As far as I know the chain-brake/clutch cover is only as a complete assy. Possibly the same as a Husky 450 but have never tried so I can't say for sure. I do own each version of the 5020's.s-l640.jpgScreenshot 2024-03-12 at 05-03-15 poulan pp5020 - Google Search.png

It irritates me how much cheap looking black plastic is on these saws. Macs are supposed to be bright yellow, Poulan Pro an orange-yellow.

Would you be able to check what the model number is on the serial tag? I have a very similar saw that doesn't have any numbers left except for P40CB on the serial tag and I am trying to figure out exactly what the model is.
Pro 405 says on tag

If I rembember correctly the Poulan Pro name came into being in 1988.
Poulan did have a few saws badged for them but it had to be a small fraction of the saws they rebadged for others.

Some off the top of my head that had Poulan badge saws for them were Sears/Craftsman, Skil, Dayton Wizard, Wright, Ridgid, JC Pennys, Allis Chalmers, White motors, Gamble, Jonsereds, Spiegel, Dolmar and maybe more.

Poulan had some badged for them by Dolmar and Partner/Pioneer.

Does anyone have any of the intake manifold gasket material from a 3700/ Craftsman 3.7? I have one on my bench and it disintegrated.
I couldn’t find it on eBay. Not the actual gasket… the thick material that fits around the intake flange.

Picked up this pretty nice Craftsman Sears Best 3.3 this morning, still has the original bar.

Has a broken recoil pulley, so I need to find one before I can look into it more. The PO was tired of messing with the recoil, so sold it. Does anybody have one, or know where to source one? Several Poulan saws share the same recoil.

Looks like the official parts list is:
530027170 - Pulley
530027162 - Starter Dog
530027163 - Retainer

Any ideas on this material? Is it a dust seal for that intake-cylinder area?
