Anyone have a rear hand guard gray in color for a 655 ?
Please let me know if you have one you'd sell .
Thanks
Ernie

Ernie, I don't know if you have located a hand guard for your 655 but Parts Tree claims to have one.

The 655's came in grey and black so if you need one from them you would have to call to make sure it was grey.

There should be a tag under the clutch cover behind the handle bar mount.

If not, the 5200 has a 2.06 inch bore diameter and a 4200 is 1.84 inches.

The carb on a 5200 is a Tillotson HS-176, the 4200 uses an HS-168. The only difference is that the HS-176 is a governed carb.

*pretty boy me. The easiest way to tell is that the 4200 has a bridge in the exhaust port and the 5200 does not.

I see this isn't a very active group as the last post here was exactly 2 months ago.I'll take a shot anyway.I recently acquired a "Poulan" 5020 AV & the PO decided he was brilliant & gutted the chain brake.I've looked all over & contacted a couple old Poulan dealers to see if I could buy a new brake band. The IPL doesn't even list the brake band as a part,so no part #.I've been told that I must buy the entire clutch cover assembly. Is this true? A shot in the dark here - would anyone have a good used clutch cover for the saw?

Worth a shot.

Do you have pictures of the carb? Given the age it's probably a brown or early tillotson. Identify what it is, then find some homelite diagrams from the same era. Most of the parts(gaskets/diaphragm) will probably interchange.

I don’t know much about the older poulans but guy at work has a 4200 with a bow and he wants a regular bar. I have a 28” bar that came off a McCulloch that I would sell him if it will fit.

The 4200 should be a D176 mount, if your McCulloch bar came off a 10 Series or 600 Series saws it's a match. If the bar came off a large frame McCulloch saw you would need a simple spacer to make it fit, they used a simple spring type spacer or an "S" shaped sheet metal spacer with certain bars so they could work with either mount.
