Looks like a splinded stud, not for a saw.

Some I've seen come in from the oil tank and get pulled into place, a little sealant to prevent leaks. Been awhile since I've looked into the oil tanks on one of those.

Just looked it up, it's a threaded stud, less that $2.00

Just hope yours is screwed in and not drove in. If drove in, you will have to install a threaded insert.

I almost thought about seeing if I could switch it to some husky studs, maybe.

Little something I ran across a couple weeks ago. She runs very well. I like the way she pops when she's just idling.

Don't get me wrong guys but every time I see one of those saws or anything similar to it, it reminds me of dad's old blue Homelite SXL 12 he had. First saw I remember dad having, wished I knew where it was and he can't remember. That's style saw just stirs the soul.

You can also tell by the fins on the cylinder, 49mm has a row of vertical fins on top, the 46.5mm has only horizontal so it's flat on top.
Life has been crazy lately so I haven't been able to check it out other than snap this pic. Is this what you mean about vertical fins on the top of the cylinder?IMG_20180716_203804828.jpg

Rebuilding micro xxv. During pressure testing of the case i have bubbles from the chain oiler. I have an idea what causes this but would like to hear what you think. Thanks

Picked up a craftsman 3.7 ,358.354831 (poulan 3700) with a busted rear handle half. Went and bought the handle half and now, after 5-6 months im finally starting the repairs. Noticed in the craftsman ipl (also poulan 4000 but not 3400) that theres sposed to be a trigger spring (poulan and cman part number - 25469) that i dont have. Also the trigger for the cman and the 4000 have same part number (26013) whereas the number for the 3400 is different (24249). All the pix look the same. Whew!
1. Do i really need a trigger spring? Wont the carb spring operate the trigger?
2. If i do need one does anyone know where i can get one?
This saw is prime candidate for fixing and flipping. Id hate to waste time on something as minor as looking for a spring the size of my little finger tip

Negotiating with a local shop over this.

I haven’t had one since my two Dayton’s.[emoji848]

I hope they are no like the pawn shops around here! Have most of there items listed at 5% below new retail and hardly move. Will buy an item at 33% of what it is worth used.

I'm seeing 20- 30 bucks max. I hope they give you a deal!

Nice finds @Mycamaro_68 Both of those are great saws. The 3.7 60cc is only like the 6 one I have seen to date. (updated only seen 6 till his made 7)

3.7 Saving them all to their own thread as they are the rarer of the series. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/craftsman-3-7-60cc-24'/

The blue labeled 54cc is top notch chrome bore poulan 335 predator. Thread on them. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/craftsman-3-3-sears-best/

Have had 2 of the 3.7's myself. 1 sold to collector. 1 left I will sell with the original 24" too.
