I wish you the best with that. Been looking for 3 years now in both the US and Canada. US Chrome will do them again now but only in lots of 10 of the same cylinder and only if you have them blind bored before you send them. By the time you get done you are right at $400 in each cylinder door to door, maybe a bit more with shipping to the machinist, then the US Chrome WI, then to US Chrome in New England, then back to you.
I wonder if it would be less expansive if you could have them done in bulk......

Honestly I can only blame myself with hopes of finding an operational saw used, like @Knightmax said it's a gamble , scraping noises inside are usually a good indicator of badness though. It is possible that enough people haven't handled a roached top end saw also?, my experience is vast!😄
@heimannm built my finest running 82cc McCulloch, it did try to escape his hands to blow up on me though! As most are well aware; he's a man of his word and persistent.
I've been having a run of bad luck with saws lately too, so maybe I'll focus more on using the ones that do run and wait for warmer weather to hang out in the shop rebuilding ones that don't.
I have a couple vehicle projects to keep me occupied for awhile right now too.
FYI I keep all my bad topends just incase things get sorted with the plating or sleeves.

Not sure what the confirmation was for "great compression " was ? But I have a different idea of what it is.
So his test for "great compression" was to hold the saw by the pull cord and it didn't pay out.....a seized piston will give the same result... :D
